Jeremy Piven Hides Hair Loss With Toupee
Posted on July 21st, 2008 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross
As Entourage fans are eagerly awaiting Ari Gold’s return to premium prime time, Make Me Heal is eager to see what new toupees Jeremy Piven wears. Jeremy is notorious for wearing toupees in lieu of receiving plastic surgery for hair restoration.

Paparazzi captured very soon to be 43-year old Jeremy’s wig getting prepped for shooting a scene on the upcoming season of Entourage, when it returns this fall. Over the years, Jeremy has worn a variety of hairpieces to mask his rapidly receding hairline, even appearing au naturel from time to time, letting the world in on his secret.

Unlike Brendan Fraser, Jeremy hasn’t yet turned to hairplugs, instead using hairpieces of varying shape to mask his baldness (See Make Me Heal’s story on Brendan Fraser’s hair loss).
Hair restoration exert warns that relying on tape and glue to attach hairpieces can actually accelerate hair loss.

Jeremy’s method of dealing with hair loss is similar to the various hairpieces that John Travolta has worn over the years (See Make Me Heal’s story on John Travolta’s hairpieces).
Jeremy’s hair loss pattern starts at his forehead and recedes all the way to the middle of his head.
Some of his hairpieces are more successful than others and even if he decided to forgo the rugs altogether, we’d still watch his heinous shenanigans with the rest of the Entourage boys.

Understanding the Common Causes of Hair Loss in Men by Daniel Beasley

Hair loss is experienced by most men at some point in their life, but may progress to become a permanent balding process. Following is a list of common questions about hair loss in men.
What causes excessive hair loss? There are many possible causes of hair loss, and some are a very natural part of the normal growth process. However, excessive hair loss may occur three or four months after a major illness or surgery. This is due to the extra stress your body experienced during that time.

Other causes may include hormonal problems such as hypo- or hyperthyroid conditions. Hair loss may also be related to an imbalance in androgens and estrogens in the body. These conditions can usually be remedied with medication, and effectively stop the hair loss.

Hair loss may also occur due to certain medications. Eliminating use of the medicine will allow your hair to grow back. Medications included in this category are blood thinners, gout medications, chemotherapy drugs, vitamin a, and antidepressants.

Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss, as well as underlying diseases such as lupus or diabetes. This is why those experiencing hair loss should first schedule an appointment with their doctor to discuss possible treatments or remedies.

What is male-pattern baldness? Male-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men, and this is usually a permanent condition that is inherited. This condition may first occur with receding hairlines, and can begin at a relatively early age. Typically, those who experience early onset will lose more hair overall in future years.

Can something be done to reverse male-pattern baldness? Many treatments are available, though not every patient will experience the same results. One popular medication, minoxidil, is used on the scalp to help prevent further hair loss, and is available without a prescription. Finasteride is a prescription medication that your doctor may prescribe for male-pattern baldness. This medication is taken in pill form, and could take as long as six months to produce results. Hair restoration surgery is another popular and successful treatment option.

Hair Transplant Story Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34952

Joel Teague - Treasure Coast Hair Restoration

At age 17, I noticed that my hair was getting thinner. At first I thought it was due to wearing baseball caps or stress; however when I noticed other men my age where not experiencing this it caused me concern.

Looking for an answer to stop to hair loss from proceeding, I tried Rogaine which did provide some results in the crown area; however it did not grow any hair in the front and it was quite costly at the time.

In my twenties and still uncomfortable with my hair loss progression; I was drawn to Hair Club for Men that promised to give me a natural and immediate results. They sold this concept to me as a “system”, which I later came to realize was just a glorified toupee and actually caused additional hair loss. The cost was in excess of $5000 per year.

The “system” also caused skin irritation, and I gradually lost confidence in the natural appearance that was originally promised. Over time I become a slave to maintenance the emotional stress of having something to hide. After four years of being completely frustrated, I finally succumbed to shaving my head as a temporary solution.

As a surgical technologist, I began to research the options for hair restoration. My initial research only presented the use of plugs and large grafts that did not provide a natural look. Further study revealed new technology. Follicular unit grafting was available and this was the answer that I have been searching for.

Knowing that others shared a similar dilemma, I discussed this with my friend and locally renown surgeon Dr. Adam Kurtin. We had worked together for six years and I have the utmost respect and confidence in his surgical abilities, attention to detail and amiable approach to patient care. He shared my vision and we began the process of training in this particular specialty. In April 2007, Treasure Coast Hair Restoration became a reality.

In July 2007, I had my first hair transplantation and I could not be happier. The results are natural and better than I expected. Having gone through various options, I can personal say that hair restoration is the only permanent solution to hair loss. I am thrilled to be part of a team that shares my vision to restore confidence, self esteem and transform lives.
